Imagine a store with video games as far as the eye can see and the people that wait on you look like Super Mario and Zelda. OK, maybe I can’t deliver on the last part, but Nintendo did announce that they are planning to open a retail store in New York City on May 14, 2005.
Nintendo World will be a two-story, 10,000 square foot gamer’s paradise, complete with exclusive merchandise, games and interactive kiosks. They’ll also be giving full props to one of their biggest sellers in the Pokemon Center.
Expect new and old favorites for your Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance SP, and Nintendo GameCube. The store will also feature an extensive Nintendo DS sampling station.
Get there on opening day and you’ll be treated to a block party full of frothing gamers competing for semi-valuable prizes and full bragging rights.
